Sage's Big Adventure is an inspiring chapter book that presents the early life of Mrs. Irwin's blind Springer Spaniel, Sage.  Sage became blind before she was 3 years old due to a genetic disease.  Sage not only had to adjust to her blindness, but simultaneously, became a member of a new family.  The story explores life with Sage: how she overcame the obstacle of losing her sight and how she learned to have confidence in herself and trust in her new family.  Featuring more than 25 photos, children cheer Sage on as she encounters many problems and learns to overcome lack of confidence and fear, including the experience of being lost in the woods.

Sage Learns to Share, a richly-illustrated and warmly-written book, showcases Sage's friendship with Cody, a Cocker Spaniel that comes to live in the Irwin household.  The dogs' friendship doesn't bloom well at the beginning, as Sage has a difficult time accepting Cody's presence in her house and his relationship with their people.  Trust triumphs in the end, however.  Sage Learns to Share teaches children the importance of friendship, trust, sharing, and self-esteem in this endearing story of two dogs adjusting to and finally accepting one another.
