Sage's Big Adventure is an inspiring chapter book that presents the early life of Mrs. Irwin's blind Springer Spaniel, Sage. Sage became blind before she was 3 years old due to a genetic disease. Sage not only had to adjust to her blindness, but simultaneously, became a member of a new family. The story explores life with Sage: how she overcame the obstacle of losing her sight and how she learned to have confidence in herself and trust in her new family. Sage Learns to Share, a richly-illustrated and warmly-written book, showcases Sage's friendship with Cody, a Cocker Spaniel that comes to live in the Irwin household. The dogs' friendship doesn't bloom well at the beginning, as Sage has a difficult time accepting Cody's presence in her house and his relationship with their people. Trust triumphs in the end, however.
